General scope and definitions
These betting rules govern all bets placed with 8ipl on eligible sporting and non-sporting markets. They set forth how bets are accepted, settled, voided or refunded, how events may be adjusted by 8ipl for integrity or risk reasons, and the rights and remedies available to 8ipl and customers. By placing a bet, you acknowledge and accept these rules, including any sport‑specific settlements described herein.
Settlement of markets
The outcome of every market is settled when the result is officially determined by the applicable governing body, league, or event organizer. If a market is decided by an official announcement after the event, 8ipl reserves the right to void bets placed after the publication of that outcome. Where a market is not decided within normal time, the market will be settled at the end of regular duration unless the market description specifies otherwise. Markets that include overtime or penalty deciders are settled only as described in the market terms.
Postponed, abandoned or deferred events
-
If a match or event is postponed and the restart occurs within 48 hours of the original start time, bets may remain valid and settle according to the eventual result.
-
If a match is postponed beyond 48 hours or not resumed, 8ipl may declare bets on the affected markets void and refund stakes unless otherwise specified in the market description.
-
For two‑legged ties, only markets associated with the postponed leg are affected; markets not dependent on the postponed portion remain eligible for settlement according to the available result.
-
Markets involving team qualifications or tournament progression will be settled as void if the event is postponed or abandoned and not rescheduled within 48 hours; outright markets remain subject to the eventual decision.
-
In sport specific cases such as baseball or other leagues with defined innings or periods, settlement follows official competition criteria (eg, completed innings/half‑innings or time segments) and is clearly described in the market terms. In the absence of such description, standard completion rules apply.
Palpable error, voids and cancellations
-
8ipl reserves the right to cancel or void all or part of a bet if there is a palpable error or mispricing in odds or event details, or if a bet was placed in a way that contravenes risk controls. Bets may be refunded or settled as void as appropriate.
-
8ipl may void bets if a customer places multiple identical or substantially similar bets to exploit odds or limits, or if information known to the customer would deterministically affect the outcome.
-
8ipl may void bets if there is a violation of the event rules, if the customer participates in the event, or if there is a risk to the integrity of the market. In such cases, decisions are final and may be communicated upon request.
Venue and material changes
-
If the venue of an event changes, 8ipl reserves the right to cancel all bets unless otherwise stated in the market description.
-
Substantial changes in event conditions, such as playing time, distance, or number of periods, may lead to cancellation of related bets at 8ipl’s sole discretion.
Fraud, integrity and regulatory action
-
8ipl may suspend, pause or withhold settlement on any bets while investigating potential fraud or market manipulation. Where applicable, relevant regulatory bodies or authorities may be informed, and outcomes of investigations may determine settlement or voiding of bets.
VAR and officiating decisions
Decisions made by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) that conflict with on‑field outcomes may result in voiding bets placed in the period between the original incident and the final decision, unless the final odds were not affected by the VAR review or have already been reflected in the odds at acceptance. Bets not impacted by the VAR decision settle normally. 8ipl may reverse settlement if a final decision renders prior settlement inaccurate, provided the decision is communicated before the match or the defined settlement window closes.
Odds display, rounding and settlement timing
-
Odds shown to customers are displayed with two decimal places. Total odds calculations use a sixth decimal rounding, and the total win is truncated to two decimal places. Any numerical discrepancy arises solely from these rounding conventions.
-
The maximum period between initial settlement and any re‑settlement due to post‑fact changes is 30 days.
Finish time rules
If a match is officially completed by the referee at or after the 79th minute, the full‑time result is used for settlement. If completion occurs at 78:59 or earlier, undecided markets are voided unless the market specifies otherwise. Matches abandoned or stopped for reasons such as crowd disturbance or force majeure will have undecided markets voided unless a definitive result is subsequently established by 8ipl in accordance with market rules.
Match formats and live betting
-
Supported prematch and live formats include 2x25, 2x30, 2x35, 2x40, 2x45 and 3x30. If a match duration falls outside 50 to 90 minutes, markets may be voided.
-
Live bets are accepted on main and additional outcomes. Bets are considered accepted when an online confirmation is issued. In the event of a temporary interruption, settlement may proceed on the live result as displayed at the time of resolution.
-
If a live event is interrupted and resumed within five hours, all live bets remain valid. If not resumed within five hours, bets are settled at odds of 1.00 for undecided outcomes, unless the result has already been determined.
Outrights and the play‑or‑pay concept
Outright markets (short‑term and long‑term) are subject to a play‑or‑pay rule. Bets on listed participants stand irrespective of the participant’s actual participation in the competition, and are settled as losses where applicable. Head‑to‑head markets exclude the play‑or‑pay principle; if a listed participant does not compete, related H2H markets are void. If a listed participant is replaced by another from the same team, team markets stand while individual markets may be void.
Scorers and market types
-
Scorers markets include First, Last, and Anytime Scorer. These rules apply to regular time unless the market expressly includes extra time. Own goals are handled as per official rulings; if a player never plays, related scorer bets may be void.
-
First/Last/Anytime Scorer rules apply consistently across connected markets such as 1X2 with Scorer or Correct Score with Scorer, subject to market terms.
Format and expectations for customers
-
Bets are accepted only before the event starts unless they are live bets. Live bets are fixed at acceptance and not subject to post‑acceptance alteration except as described in these rules.
-
Partial or total bets may be canceled or voided at 8ipl’s discretion for reasons including system integrity, misbilling, or non‑compliance with these rules.
Disputes, verification and refunds
Disputes regarding results or settlement are reviewed by 8ipl and may be resolved using official data or alternative credible sources if discrepancies arise. Where required by law or policy, customers may be asked to provide verification documents in relation to identity, age, or payout eligibility. Refunds are issued to the customer’s account balance when a bet is voided or canceled in accordance with these rules.
